2020 has been a year like no other in living memory. Yet despite the challenges of a global pandemic, economic upheaval and widespread restrictions against social gatherings with friends and family, the healthcare industry is soldiering on to face a new year.
But before we turn the corner to 2021, let’s take a quick look back at some of the more striking moments of an unforgettable 2020. In this brief video, we’ve summed up in just over a minute all of the reasons why CareerStaff is emerging from a difficult year as a shining star in the healthcare workforce industry, and a beacon to struggling facilities across the United States.
2020 Year in Review: Facing Challenges as a Team
As 2020 winds down, we’re proud to say that we’re emerging on the other side a stronger company, with an expanded network and even greater capacity to meet our clients’ needs. And we know that we couldn’t do it without the healthcare workers, corporate employees, valued vendors and current partners who make it all possible.
Speaking of healthcare workers, we deployed almost 5,500 clinicians this past year alone. Many worked crisis-response assignments, helping to deliver care on the COVID-19 frontlines. Many others helped a vast number of facilities shore up their workforce needs in a diverse variety of specialties and practice settings.
And those facilities include not just some of America’s leading hospital and health center networks, but also a diverse variety of clinics, long-term care facilities, SNFs, home health groups, schools and correctional facilities and many more. And with the help of our amazing nationwide network of health professionals, we partnered with more than 100 of these organizations, including six state department of health agencies, to specifically provide COVID-19 crisis response services.

Despite the rapid changes brought on by 2020, the positive culture that CareerStaff is known for endured. In the spirit of continuous improvement, we took action and formed the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Committee. Those who work on our corporate team led the way to our third straight year as an official Great Place to Work.
We also continued to make an impact on our local community and on a national basis through our charitable support of nonprofit organizations like Feeding America, MedShare and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The bottom line? Despite the many challenges, the team at CareerStaff has remained focus on helping facilities deliver exceptional patient care. This year, the clinicians we placed worked more than 2.9 million hours on assignments for our clients. And our corporate employees came together quickly to virtually support our clinicians and facilities like never before.
In fact, in an effort to maintain our exceptional service, we grew our corporate team by 36% in 2020. A testament to our ability to meet the demands of a critical situation, this growth also demonstrates our commitment to expanding our services to meet the growing needs of our many partners.
None of this would have been possible without our many amazing clients, clinicians and employees. So we say thank you to everyone — and here’s looking forward to a better year ahead!
