Happy National Healthcare Recruiter Recognition Day 2022 from CareerStaff!

June 7, 2022 is National Healthcare Recruiter Recognition Day, a time to celebrate the amazing, essential work done by clinical recruiters, each and every day! And, as one of the nation’s leading healthcare recruitment companies, we at CareerStaff understand better than most just how important these professionals are — and not only to our success but for each of our nurses and clinical workers, too.

After two years of Covid-19, the healthcare workplace is maybe more challenging than it’s ever been. There are tons of opportunities out there for nurses and clinical workers looking for a better career path, or just something different. But a healthcare professional’s busy schedule doesn’t leave much extra time to sort through those career opportunities.

With the right recruiter, though, there’s also no need to! A great recruiter will work on your behalf to connect you with the right assignment in the right facility, with the pay and benefits you deserve. And there’s nobody who can tackle that important job better than the amazing recruiters right here at CareerStaff.

In case you think we’re a little too biased, we’re not the only ones singing the praises of the amazing CareerStaff recruitment team. Time and again, the nurses, therapists, and other healthcare workers who work with us tell us that their recruiters are their favorite part of the CareerStaff experience.

“My favorite thing about working with CareerStaff is my recruiters — how they make me feel appreciated and always keep me updated,” Joanna, one of the CareerStaff Clinicians of the Month for May, 2021, told us last year

“My recruiters are my favorite part of working with CareerStaff,” agreed Debbie, one of our CareerStaff Clinicians of the Month for January, 2022. “The personal touch — they are awesome!”

4 Reasons to Appreciate CareerStaff Recruiters on National Healthcare Recruiter Recognition Day

So, just what is it about our recruiters that nurses and clinicians find so engaging, rewarding and even inspiring? Well, as luck would have it, we’ve asked many of them that very question — and to mark National Healthcare Recruiter Recognition Day, let’s take a look at the top 4 responses they provided!

Reason #1: An Exceptionally warm welcome

Almost every one of the nurses and clinicians we’ve spoken to in our Clinicians of the Month series rave about the welcoming spirit of the recruitment team. When asked about his favorite part of working as a registered nurse with CareerStaff, Brian, one of the CareerStaff Clinicians of the Month for February, 2021, said: “My favorite is the kindness I am shown by staff, and especially my recruiter Lara!”

That welcoming spirit can be especially important for those who are working with a recruitment company for the first time. “CareerStaff was the first staffing agency I’ve worked for, and my recruiter was wonderful helping me transition to my first placement,” as Tashina, one of our Clinicians of the Month for August, 2021, told us.

Reason #2: reliability and ongoing support

When we asked Melanie, one of our Clinicians of the Month for June, 2022, why she loves working with CareerStaff, she was quick to point to the dependability of her recruiter.

“My recruiter Rebecca is always so accommodating,” she said. “She is also very fast and efficient. When I ask her something, she immediately responds back.”

“My recruiter Dena, she is always tirelessly working, and always available,” echoed Seth, one of our Clinicians of the Month for January, 2021. “If she doesn’t have an answer, she gets it. She makes working for this company a great experience.”

“The entire company, from my recruiter to the higher up office staff, were so incredibly supportive the whole way,” added Marni, another of the CareerStaff Clinicians of the Month for February, 2021. “They answered all my questions in a timely manner and made me feel very welcome and supported. They continue to be there for me whenever I have any questions or concerns.”

Reason #3: Going above and beyond the call of duty

For many clinicians and nurses in our network, their CareerStaff recruiter isn’t just a professional associate or co-worker, but a real partner in their ongoing career development. To that end, many workers have talked about the bond they feel with their recruiter, and how that helps provide additional inspiration and a sense of fulfillment.

“I love my recruiter Meagan,” raved Stephanie, one of our Clinicians of the Month for January, 2021. “When she nonchalantly mentioned she had nominated me [for the Clinicians of the Month award], I thought, ‘what?! Why?! Me!! What did I do?!’ I was having a rough week, and she truly brightened my day. She’s awesome. I love having a good team to work with.”

For Danielle, an LPN and a Clinician of the Month for January, 2022, her recruiter took center stage during her the most memorable experience with CareerStaff: “While working in a locked COVID-19 unit, I took a call from my recruiter in full COVID-19 gear, and she told me my face shield complimented my eyes. At that time everything was so scary, and she made me feel a little less scared.”

“My favorite part of working with CareerStaff is being able to travel and make GOOD money while bonding with my recruiter!” as Sharon, one of the CareerStaff Clinicians of the Month for February, 2022, memorably put it.

Reason #4: Knowing you’ve found a recruitment company you can trust

Finally, as so many nurses and clinicians have told us over the years, the high quality of our recruiters is a great indicator that they’ve made the right choice with CareerStaff — and validation that they’re working with a healthcare recruitment company that’s truly dedicated to them.

“CareerStaff is more concerned about their nurses” than other agencies, as John, one of the CareerStaff Clinicians of the Month for July, 2021, told us. For healthcare professionals like John, it can truly be a game changer that their recruiter isn’t just always easy to reach, but also “always willing to help solve my problems.”

“I’d have to say that my absolute favorite part about working with CareerStaff is my recruiter,” said Steve, a respiratory therapist and one of the CareerStaff Clinicians of the Month for October 2021. “Maria Travis is absolutely amazing and is always there whenever I need her and lots of time even when I don’t. She is the best.”

Meet Sharmeda Johnson

What do you love most about being a healthcare recruiter?

Being a recruiter is rewarding & fulfilling because it allows me to make a difference in specific individuals’ lives. It enables me to help nurses with their careers (pay, facilities, hours geographical locations) which benefits individuals & families who are in need of healthcare. At one point in my life, I needed the assistance of a recruiter to find employment. Therefore, I understand the need for & importance of career assistance. I appreciate being able to see first-hand how I’m able to help someone reach their personal short & long-term financial goals in different areas of their lives, which can include, but are not limited to, retirement, college tuition, buying a home or car, or other leisure activities.

What’s one piece of advice you would give a clinician?

One piece of advice that I would give a clinician is to take your time & do your research. Find which agency, contract, and or recruiter is going to be the best fit for you personally; sometimes it’s not always about the money.

What would your nurses say makes you different?

I think my nurses will say that I’m honest, genuine, and patient, and I really have a passion for what I do, so it never feels like a job. I never make my nurses feel like they’re just another number.

What do you love most about working at CareerStaff?

I love that I work for a company that cares about my work-life balance & making sure there are opportunities to meet other colleagues that work in different parts of the company. Since I started working for CareerStaff two years ago I’ve seen so much growth in the number of opportunities to get involved in different committees & other aspects of the company outside of my own team. I think this is really key, especially in this new world we’re having to adapt to while working completely remotely. It allows us to constantly stay connected with one another even though we’re not seeing each other every day in person.

Meet Becky Davis

What do you love most about being a healthcare recruiter?

The relationships I have built over the years are absolutely what keep me going and keep the love for my job strong!

What’s one piece of advice you would give a clinician? other healthcare recruiters?

For clinicians: Always remember we are a partnership and to come to me with anything needed, keeping clear and open communication.

For recruiters: Think of how you would want your recruiter to be and try to mirror it and give as much support as possible. If you’re supportive and communicative, the rest falls into place.

What would your nurses say makes you different?

I have been told my follow-through is huge in comparison. I am very quick to reply, even if I am in the middle of something else, I still take a moment to let them know I got their message. I also will always dig to find solutions to any issues they bring to my attention. And then of course the relationships I’ve built with them.

What do you love most about working at CareerStaff?  The family-like bond I have with my teammates and my nurses.

Meet Gabrael Smallwood

What do you love most about being a healthcare recruiter?

What I love the most about being a healthcare recruiter is getting to know the different nurses in each part of the country. There’s always a story, there’s always a challenge, there’s always a problem but at the end of the day, we get through it!.

What’s one piece of advice you would give other healthcare recruiters?

I always tell new recruiters, be you. Be yourself when talking to clinicians. The clinicians will really enjoy you being you and that’s how I’ve created so many long-lasting relationships over the years.

What would your nurses say makes you different?

My Authenticity. I genuinely care about my nurses and try to build that relationship whether the nurse is a communicator or not.

What do you love most about working at CareerStaff?

It’s hard to pinpoint one thing I love the most. My team is great; my director is great! I love the 49 Travel team. There’s not one person on the team who’s not willing to help when someone needs help. It’s a true family environment and everyone wants to see each other succeed.
