“Physical therapists play a unique role in helping people overcome barriers to regular physical activity to benefit physical, mental and social health,” as Clint Hudson, PT, DPT, SCS of Hattiesburg Clinic Physical Rehabilitation told the Pine Belt News in a commemoration of Physical Therapy Month.
On top of that, PTs and PTAs “empower people to actively participate in their own treatment and work collaboratively with each other and with other health professionals to ensure patients receive the best care,” observes WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital in its celebration of PT Month. That’s a big job that includes not improving mobility but also managing pain, preventing future injury and much more.
