October 16th is National Boss Appreciation Day.  It’s a day to recognize and honor outstanding leadership that drives our communities and society forward in a positive and reflective light.

Have you ever known someone who can immediately take control of a situation?  A manager or executive who walks into a room and clearly outlines the goals with a high energetic passion for the work and a friendly, approachable demeanor? They make everyone feel at ease and comfortable as if everything’s under control. These are our transformational leaders—the people who inspire and are inspired by positive changes in those around them. For National Boss Appreciation Day 2021, we’d like to take a moment to talk about our leaders at CareerStaff and the values we’ve used to build the company from scratch.  Our management team is one of the many reasons CareerStaff is a four-time Certified Great Place to Work™.

What is National Boss Appreciation Day?

National Boss Appreciation day has occurred on October 16th every year since 1958.  Patricia Bays Haroski registered this national holiday to appreciate her father, who was also her boss.  She felt that young people didn’t fully appreciate or understand the work, worry, and effort in their boss’s day.  Boss Appreciation Day was supposed to improve relationships and encourage transparency between leadership and the workforce.

But it’s not a one-sided holiday.  It’s not just about employees appreciating great leaders in their world, but also about leaders and bosses taking a few moments to be grateful for their employees, managers, and career lives. “We work in a people business,” says Dan Edwards, East VP at CareerStaff.  When people are your business, it’s people who matter most, and that’s why our employees consistently rank CareerStaff as a great place to work. Our leadership understands the value of the human being and what motivates us as individuals.

Our Leadership Staff and Style at CareerStaff

Trade and commerce connect the world and the history of its people.  Commerce is how civilization grew and will continue to grow.  Leadership is what builds and keeps an economy running, pushes society forward, and provides the world with new and innovative services, products, and trade solutions.

Businesses are most successful, and society is healthier when the people who make the company run are satisfied with their lives—both personally and professionally.  Transformational leaders understand this, and they know that that building relationships and trust are part of success.  At CareerStaff, leaders take an interest in coworkers’ and employees’ personal growth and success.

Jessica Choate, one of our esteemed Sourcing Specialists, says, “I cannot express enough how thankful I am to have found a company that is willing to go above and beyond to make sure I understand what I am doing and is open to helping me in any way, shape, or form. I know I can succeed in my role.”

That’s leadership’s primary goal at CareerStaff—to use your skills to grow while helping you get where you want to go.

The Core Values We Stand and Live By

“Seeing how hard so many individuals work in this company is inspiring. The effort and dedication that they deliver drive you to do the same,” said Ryan Taylor, VP of Operations.

We have three core values at CareerStaff that make up the company and our fantastic culture:

  1. Collaborative
  2. Supportive
  3. Unparalleled

These three values make up everything we do and all we are, as evidenced by our employee testimonies. Our values bring us closer in a socially distanced time, make us more productive, and carry us all toward our professional goals.

“I am so proud of all the employees I work with as they have shown how resilient they can be,”  says Teresa Reinhardt, VP of Finance

“Through this pandemic, even with our team being remote, we grew closer and came out stronger than ever before. Not just the MSP team but CSU as a whole truly demonstrated our core values through and through,” said Kristin Counts, VP of Managed Services.
