As recent and very proud recipients of the Great Place to Work® designation (for the third year in a row, no less) we understand the importance of building a great team — and offering them an exceptional place to work.
So we’re always gratified to see the kind of employee survey results we discovered earlier this summer (you can see those results in a handy infographic format here). Among other milestones, we discovered that 95% of people who work for CareerStaff say that people care about each other here, and 96% of employees say they felt welcome when joining the team.

In other words, we understand that our success is built on the great people who work hard every day to keep the CareerStaff mission alive and well. And during a time of pandemic, we also understand that it’s a mission that’s more important than ever, especially as other U.S. recruitment companies struggle to stay afloat.
To ensure that we continue to meet our goal of providing the high-quality nurses, clinicians and other professionals facilities need to achieve their staffing and patient care goals, we asked our team to share their thoughts on what makes the CareerStaff model work so well. Here’s what they had to say.
6 Things People Love About Working at CareeerStaff
#1: Great People.
“The thing I love most about working at CareerStaff is the people!” raved recruiter Anthony Oliver-Cruz. “The people I get to work with, internally and externally,” he added, referring to his role connecting and communicating with everyone in the CareerStaff orbit, including clinicians, clients, executives and team members alike.
“I love the community I feel from my team,” added Samantha Gookis, another recruiter.
#2: A Spirit of Collaboration and Teamwork.
“I might be biased, but my favorite thing about CareerStaff is the Sourcing Team I get to be a part of, every day,” CareerStaff recruiter Amber Golden told us. “Collaborating and just being around this team makes work, just not feel like work.”
Samantha agreed: “My team welcomed me in with open arms, and their positive energy makes it easy to look forward to working with them each day.”
#3: Career Stability
“The thing I love most about working at CareerStaff is the longevity of this opportunity,” said Sourcing Specialist Rachel VerNisie, “I not only have a clear path to new goals and opportunities in my future that I would’ve never even considered for myself, the consistent support of every single person I have met here, and the resources such as the Women’s Leadership Team, Mentorship Program, and Health Advocate.
“This company has everything I could’ve imagined in a long-term career and so so SO much more!”
#4: The Chance to Learn.
“Even after working at CSU for over 10 years now,” said CareerStaff staffing manager Brenda Batt, “I still learn something new every day!”
#5: Support from Leadership.
“I can count on one hand how many months I’ve been with this team,” Sourcing Specialist Jessica Choate told us. “In that short amount of time, I’ve met and received help, tips, tricks, and great advice from a bucketful of individuals.”
“I cannot express enough how thankful I am to have found a company that is willing to go above and beyond to make sure I understand what I am doing and is open to helping me in any way, shape, or form,” she added. “I know I can succeed in my role because of how successful this company is in just teamwork and management and I can’t wait to see how far this position will take me in my career!”
#6: A Welcoming Spirit.
“I love how welcoming everyone has been these last 4 months,” agreed recruiter Courtney Francisco, a newer addition to the CareerStaff team.
“I haven’t come across hardly anyone that wasn’t willing to go above and beyond to help me, welcome me, or make me feel comfortable and confident in my role,” she said. “From the Training and Development team to other offices, and of course, my own office especially. I am so happy to work for this company!”

As great as it is to hear these sentiments from current team members, they’ve been echoed for years. “CSU is like one big family,” as one CareerStaff team member wrote in a GlassDoor employee review. “Management is very supportive and the teams are just that, TEAMS. Everyone works together for the betterment of the company, and they really believe in the greater goal. I love working here!!”
And that teamwork and shared sense of purpose couldn’t be more crucial in the moment of crisis facing the world in 2020. As CareerStaff Vice President of Travel David LeCours recently told us, that teamwork is instrumental in our mission of helping healthcare facilities meet their patient goals nationwide.
“We are indirectly responsible for the care provided, in hundreds of locations throughout the United States,” said David. “Through this recent pandemic, multiple clients have reached out and shared that without our professionals’ support, undoubtedly more lives would have been lost. Many of our recruiters were also referred to as heroes. It really makes you stop and think.”
