In this special installment of our Employee Spotlight, we are paws-itively thrilled to introduce our furry co-workers at CareerStaff. In celebration of National Dog Day coming up on August 26, 2023, it’s the perfect time to express our love and appreciation for our hard-working, tail-wagging co-workers who help make CareerStaff a Great Place to Work®.

Meet our Team of Canine Companions

We could not be more excited to showcase some of the many pups here at CareerStaff that remind us to pause for dog-walking breaks and to take a moment for some dog therapy during busy days.

So, in this National Dog Day edition of our employee spotlight, discover some of the most playful members of our team! These canine companions had a lot to say, including some of their favorite treats, how they met their human companion, and what they think about CareerStaff.

National Dog Day Employee Spotlight: Meet Alfred

Bull Mastiff

Q: How did you meet Alfred?

I walked into a store to just pet some pups and fell in love!

Q: How would you describe your dog’s personality?

He is a sweet angel by day and a guard dog by night.

Q: Give us a fun fact about your dog for National Dog Day.

He asks for “Big Hugs” and makes sure we’re ready before jumping up and giving a big hug. No matter what the situation, Alfred is always the sweetest to his family.

Q: If your dog could speak, what do you think they would say about CareerStaff?

“I love that you are able to stay home with me while working.”

National Dog Day Employee Spotlight: Meet Scout

German Shorthaired Pointer
Human Companion: Staci Dabrowski, Recruitment Team Lead

Q: How would you describe your dog’s personality?

Scout is something else. She’s an outgoing weirdo who is sweet as pie and is loved by everyone who meets her.

Q: Give us a fun fact about your dog for National Dog Day.

She knows all of the basics including sit, stay, lay down, roll over, paw, spin, and sit pretty. She also knows how to give us her nose. She’s a water dog who loves to dock jump!

Q: What’s your dog’s favorite toy?

It is a frisbee, all day every day. Fetch is her life.

Q: If your dog could speak, what do you think they would say about CareerStaff?

“I love Mom being able to work from home so I have someone to keep me company and play with me on lunch break. Starring in some end-of-day meetings or happy hours is always a plus for me.”

Old English Sheepdog

Q: What’s Mina’s origin story?

We had another sheepdog before her who unfortunately passed early. My family loved the breed so much that we got another one.

Q: How would you describe your dog’s personality?

She is protective of me and loves to be the center of attention.

Q: Give us a fun fact about your dog for National Dog Day.

She has moved with me from Dallas to Houston, Austin, and now San Diego. She’s a great road-tripper.

Q: How would you describe your dog using one of CareerStaff’s Core Values?

Supportive – She is always there for me no matter what!

Frenchton

Q: How did you get Gatsby?

My wife mentioned wanting a puppy. On her birthday, I surprised her with a puppy coupon. She picked him out from a breeder I found and six weeks later he came home.

Q: How would you describe your dog?

Privileged – He is the biggest baby and he’s spoiled to death!

Q: What are some of his favorite things?

Any squeaky toy will make him go crazy. He also LOVES peanut butter.

Q: How would you describe your dog using one of CareerStaff’s Core Values?

Unparalleled – I’ve had several dogs but he is one of a kind.

Q: What is Bailey’s personality like?

Bailey is spunky, affectionate, loving, and wild.

Q: When did you get your dog?

As much as I like to pretend I birthed her, Bailey was welcomed into my life just two weeks into the pandemic. I was not in the market for a dog, but Bailey had other plans.

Q: Give us a fun fact about your dog for National Dog Day.

Bailey lived in four separate states with us. She’s always up for an adventure, especially when it includes the beach!

Q: How would you describe your dog using one of CareerStaff’s Core Values?

Jack Russell Mix
Human Companion: Sara Smith, Credentialing Coordinator

Q: How did you find Sidney?

I had a friend in middle school who had puppies and I begged my mom to let me have one. I had to cry until she agreed to go pick her up but it was love at first sight.

Q: If you could describe your dog in one word, what would it be?

Bullheaded!

Q: Give us a fun fact about your dog for National Dog Day.

She LOVES socks. Socks are her emotional support toy. I could not tell you why, but she would pick a sock over any store-bought toy.

Q: If your dog could speak, what do you think they would say about CareerStaff?

“I’m glad you’re home all the time so we can hang out! Also, can I sit on your desk to be closer to you?”
