Core Value Winner: Kathryne Lewis
Technical Training Manager – Corporate Operations Team
Q: How would you describe your role and responsibilities on your team?
I oversee and create trainings for not only our new hires but for our existing employees here at CareerStaff. Today, I assist with quite a few company projects hosted by the Project Management team.
My role is to produce strategic strategies and be the subject matter expert for the internal systems we have as a company! When we adopt a new system, my team tests the system and rolls it out to the company.
Q: What is your favorite memory at CareerStaff?
Some of my favorite memories at CareerStaff are made almost every Friday. Fridays are when the Corporate Operations team gets together to review what happened during the week and troubleshoot together.
Though they are always so productive, some of the funniest things happen on Friday calls. I leave with a huge smile on my face, and that’s all a girl can ask for!
Q: What is the best part of working on your team and at CareerStaff?
The Technical Training team is one of the biggest reasons why I am here. The girls on my team are some of the most hardworking individuals I have ever met. They make my life so much easier, and I honestly could not do my job without them!
Q: What is the importance of being collaborative, unparalleled, and supportive?
One of my favorite parts about CareerStaff is that I can collaborate with people throughout the company. I love collaborating and working with my director and working with other managers on big company projects. The collaboration piece is usually missing in a lot of companies, but not CareerStaff!
Core Value Winner: Marc Currier
Senior Payroll & Billing Specialist
Q: How would you describe your role and responsibilities on your team?
I joined the CareerStaff team in March 2022 as a Payroll Coordinator for the Rhode Island office, and then for the Northeast Region.
In November 2022, I joined the Corporate Payroll team where I learned more than I expected, facing many opportunities to demonstrate critical thinking and brainstorming solutions on projects.
I currently finalize and submit payroll, provide support for payroll or billing questions, resolve payroll tickets, and more. If it is about payroll, I’m on it “like Bluebonnet!”
Q: What is your favorite memory at CareerStaff?
It’s all memorable – from the laughs with my team to the satisfaction of jumping on Zoom calls to resolve tricky issues. I have the pleasure of working with and getting to know some pretty cool people.
One specific memory that stands out: My team played around with the animal avatar feature on Zoom during a meeting. It was hilarious! We probably looked ridiculous from the outside, but we could not stop laughing!
Q: What is the best part of working on your team and at CareerStaff?
The best part of working at CareerStaff is the culture and attentiveness! It’s empowering being part of a team that is always willing to lend a hand and see things through to completion. We are not a “bare minimum” kind of team and that inspires me to give my all.
Q: What is the importance of being collaborative, unparalleled, and supportive?
The importance is extremely high! When discussing payroll items, it is important all CSU employees receive unparalleled service and feel supported, which would not be possible without purposeful collaboration.
Corporate Payroll makes it our mission to ground ourselves in those values, so it is felt by all teams we are supporting. Hopefully, it even carries over to our external staff!
