We’re seeing a huge demand for respiratory therapists in Texas, and especially in the Houston area. As one of the regions that’s currently hardest hit by the resurgence of the COVID-19 coronavirus, many facilities across Texas are in need of skilled therapists who can jump in and help out with critical patient care on an almost-immediate basis.
The pandemic has left many facilities short of respiratory therapists in the Lone Star State, even if they’re not actively treating coronavirus patients. As such, many of these RT jobs in Houston and across Texas (and a few other states) offer the chance to start working immediately.
› Not licensed in Texas, or awaiting confirmation? You may still be eligible to work one of our RT jobs in Houston or in another location in the state. To accommodate clinicians who want to help fight the surge in cases, the state has implemented temporary COVID-19 licensing. The temporary process grants waivers for the examination and fingerprint requirements for respiratory care practitioners and other clinicians helping with the coronavirus response.
The waiver form does require the sponsorship of a Texas-based physician, which the hiring hospital will arrange. In short, if you’re an otherwise-qualified respiratory care professional who wants to help fight COVID-19 in Texas, we’ll help take care of the process for you. You can read more about it here, or view the state’s temporary licensing form here.
