Happy National Career Nursing Assistants’ Day! On behalf of everyone here at CareerStaff Unlimited, we want to offer our thanks to America’s CNAs for all of the hard work they do to help keep folks healthy.
Here at CareerStaff, we’re big believers in the importance of nursing assistants to the success of the healthcare system in general. That’s why we’re proud to offer hundreds of assignments for CNAs at any given time, in facilities across the United States.
These are great career opportunities in a variety of facility types, from hospitals and long-term acute care (LTAC) providers to schools, rehab and developmental centers and even private settings like large employer campuses or manufacturing facilities.
And because of COVID-19, we’re seeing a particularly high need for CNAs in long-term care (LTC) and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) across the country. Some of these assignments deal directly with patients suffering from the new coronavirus strain, while others are simple in need of skilled nursing aides to serve in their standard roles.
Why work in an LTC/SNF setting? As you may have noticed, these facilities have been hit particularly hard by the pandemic, and have accelerated their search for skilled nursing professionals to help meet increased demand. Though most have not been directly affected by COVID-19, we’re offering expanded protections and benefits to all CareerStaff frontline workers.
At CareerStaff, we’ve always been dedicated to helping nursing care providers maximize quality of life for their residents, and we understand how critical CNAs are to getting that important job done. Assignments in the SNF/LTC setting can be career milestones for nursing professionals who seek the satisfaction of helping seniors, chronic care patients and other individuals enjoy a level of health, independence and quality of life that they may not otherwise experience.
Celebrating National Career Nursing Assistants’ Day & Week 2020
Whether you’re seeking a new assignment or not, we appreciate each and every CNA out there — not just on National Career Assistants’ Day, but every day of the year! And this year, CNA Day kicks off the 43rd annual National Nursing Assistants’ Week, a coast-to-coast celebration that “provides a timely opportunity to foster and showcase the wonderful things that can happen for residents and workers when we join together,” as the National Network of Career Nursing Assistants (NNCNA) proclaims on its CNA Day 2020 web page.
“The very best way for this kind of genuine recognition and real change to happen is for direct care workers to advocate for themselves,” the NNCNA explains, in a call upon the nation’s nursing and healthcare assistants to help spread the word about their important work among lawmakers and other officials with the power to improve the care environment.
These workers “have to take it upon themselves to educate the public, state and federal government agencies, and, in particular, their elected officials about the nature of the work and what workers need to do the job right,” the group adds.
To support that goal, the NNCNA offers a number of resources, from a call for CNA Day essays and projects to demonstrate “Nursing Assistants: Kindness In Action”© and tips for CNAs to promote awareness within their facilities. We encourage you to check it out here.
