We’re just days away from finally shutting the door on 2020, a year that most of us are only happy to be done with. It’s been a difficult year, and an unforgettable one, too. And the only thing keeping the nation up and running at all is the dedication of the nurses, therapists, technicians and other essential people working behind the scenes of patient care.
So, once again, we want to say thank you to those workers, and wish you all a Happy New Year, too! Here’s also reminding everyone that we can help you take your career to better places in the year to come. Until then, let’s close out 2020 with a look back at some of the most memorable moments from the CareerStaff Blog.
Revisiting 2020 at the CareerStaff Blog
January 2020
As the new year got underway, the biggest topics focused on career advice for travel workers—as shown by the popularity of “The Most Important Questions to Ask a Travel Nurse Recruiter.” Published at the end of January, the article went on to become one of the most popular in the history of the CareerStaff Blog.
February 2020
In February, our most popular article was an overview of the career path of a pharmaceutical professional, called “From Pharmacy Tech to Pharmacist: Charting a Career Path in Pharmacology.” We also offered a helpful look at the top reasons why nurses shouldn’t overlook the benefits of working in correctional facilities.
March 2020
As Covid-19 surged across the United States, we boosted our recruitment efforts to help connect nurses and other critical clinicians with the facilities that needed their help. To that end, our most-read blog in March was a call for nurses to work assignments in Washington State, an early epicenter of the novel coronavirus.
April 2020
As the pandemic intensified, demand for travel nurses surged as local resources ran thin, as we reported here in April. At the same time, many companies began offering free goodies to essential workers as a token of thanks. Our guide to those freebies was one of our most popular articles of all time.
May 2020
May brought with it Nurses Day 2020 as well as National Hospital Week, two big events that took on new meaning in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. And as the pandemic ground on, many people seemed to take comfort from one of our most popular articles, “Finding Inspiration during a Pandemic: 8 Motivational Quotes for Nurses.”
June 2020
As a welcome break from wall-to-wall Covid-19 coverage, our ongoing mission to provide pharmacists with a complete career guide continued in June. Our look at common pharmacists interview questions attracted more than a few eyeballs. Meanwhile, we also celebrated CNA Day and Week, too.

July 2020
As the coronavirus spread to different parts of the U.S.A. during the summer, we stepped up our efforts to recruit nurses for ICU positions across the country. Our most widely read and shared articles in July were our blog posts calling for respiratory therapists in Texas and travel clinicians in New Hampshire.
August 2020
This summer, CareerStaff Unlimited was named an official ‘Great Place to Work’ for the third year in a row — and here’s why that news mattered to our amazing network of nurses and clinicians. In August, we also provided a rundown of how healthcare workers can deal with compassion fatigue, which has become even more widespread during the pandemic.
September 2020
September was a busy month at CareerStaff. Not only did we celebrate Women in Medicine Month 2020, but we also offered an update on the list of nursing compact states, and how the number of participating states was likely to grow as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
October 2020
The explosion of demand for nurses and clinicians during the pandemic also led to an increase in fake job offers designed to steal personal info from unsuspecting job seekers. We published a quick guide to spotting scams and fake jobs in October, and closed out Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a memorable visit with CareerStaff team member Jean Leonetti, a three-time cancer survivor.
November 2020
In November we introduced our first-ever Job Pulse, a periodic rundown of our most in-demand jobs across the United States. We also took a brief break from Covid-19 coverage to focus again on career tips, with a helpful primer of essential tips for first-time travel nurses.
